2010 Grants Guidelines

Registered Nurses employed as staff nurses at either Lake Forest Hospital or Highland Park

Hospital may apply for funds in the maximum amount of $500 for the following purposes:

• Continuing education/professional development conferences
• Supporting outside speakers for in-house nursing in-service workshops
• Funds may be applied to registration costs and/or travel expenses
•  Conferences must be job-related

The Committee will evaluate applications according to the following criteria:

• Merit of the conference
• Length of service at the institution
• Amount of time in nursing
• Strength of recommendation
• Preference will be given to nurses who have not received an award previously
• Preference will be given to less expensive conferences that can be fully funded

Awards will be made for reimbursement of expenses, upon presentation of a certificate of completion or other proof of registration
