2010 Leadership Alumni Event

Why: To celebrate leadership and to support the program of Leadership Evanston. This year, we are honoring Leadership Evanston alumni who ran in the most recent election and now serve the city of Evanston.

Leadership Evanston alumni are out in the community making an impact. Over 80% of the nearly 430 alumni of the Signature Leadership Evanston program and Senior Leadership Evanston continue to live or work in Evanston. Many serve on appointed boards and commissions, have run for and serve as elected officials and on non-profit boards. Others help their organizations become more collaborative and effective in the community.

The Leadership Evanston Alumni Association keeps alumni engaged in and informed about Evanston and Leadership Evanston. Chaired by alumna and Steering Committee member Anne Murdoch, the active Alumni Association committee brings together alumni with events and communications over the year.

Alumni events provide opportunities for Leadership Evanston graduates to network with each other and to keep abreast of community trends and issues.  Annual events have included networking and training sessions, Leadership Evanston's 15th Anniversary Celebration in early 2008, and the popular Alumni Reunion. 

Each quarter, alumni receive an e-mail newsletter updating program activities and the accomplishments of their peers, along with opportunities for community involvement.  Alumni also receive an alumni directory.

Alumni Association membership is $35 and is open to graduates of other community leadership programs who have moved to Evanston. Members receive free admission to Alumni Association events, reduced admission to the Annual Reunion, and a Chamber of Commerce discount card.
